Why should I use this?

To help you quickly see, among the many many options, what to prioritize and start doing. It’s a helpful tool to get unstuck and create momentum when there are a lot of options to consider.

When should I use this?

Whenever you have a lot of options and aren’t sure what to do next. These could be problem statements, ideas, experiments, and more. Use this to make decisions about what to prioritize and take action against.

Who to involve

Any key stakeholders involved in the project

Step by step guide

Step 1

Capture what you want to prioritize in the post its (problems, ideas, experiments, etc)

Step 2

Drag each post it into the quadrant you believe at first glance it belongs in

Step 3

Step back and look through where they’ve all been placed, and discuss certain ones to decide if they should move to another quadrant

Step 4

Take your top 3-5 prioritized post its into the ‘next steps’ section, deciding what to action, when and who will own it

  • Prioritized actions for the next steps in the process

💡TIPS

  • Use this tool anytime - whenever there is something to prioritize taking action against and you have many options to consider.
  • Currently the matrix has ‘impact vs ease’ on the axis, however feel free to change that to whatever else you want to judge an idea against. Up to you!
